Local Pick: Young Punx

The Weekly Dig – August 27th, 2008 – By: David Day

The history of Boston punk rock would take 1,000 of these blurbs – or one listen to the debut EP from The Murder. Fronted by Roach McKrackin, longtime player with Entrophy, it’s imbued with sweat from the Rat or the Channel. “Boston Burns” is a freakin’ anthem, complete with MC Joe Castiglione, while hot-button politics are treated fairly on “C-B.S.” The gang unleashes a beast on the working-man track “Gravedigger” and ends emphatically with the poker-player thrash of “Rounders.” Ultimately, it’s just a goddamn good time.
